Builders Mart – Policy Statement
This Policy Statement sets out Builders Mart’s terms relating to delivery, returns, warranties, and the protection of personal data. By purchasing from Builders Mart, you agree to the terms outlined below. This document complies with relevant UK legislation, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015, UK GDPR, and associated consumer protection regulations.
- Collection & Local Delivery
Please note that all items are available by collection only from our premises.
We also provide a local delivery service within a 50-mile radius of Builders Mart, B63 2BZ, subject to availability and prior arrangement.
Nationwide UK delivery is available for pallet, bulk, and wholesale orders. Please contact us before ordering to arrange delivery.
- Returns and Refunds
Customers may return goods within 14 days of delivery for reasons including faults, inaccuracies in description, or unwanted items. Customers must contact Builders Mart before returning any product to obtain return instructions and authorisation.
Returned goods must be unused, in original packaging, and complete with all components. Tracked postage is required for all returns. Return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer. For faulty items, a full inspection will be carried out upon receipt; if a manufacturing defect is confirmed, the product will be refunded in accordance with statutory rights.
Items which cannot be returned include hygiene-sealed products that have been opened, custom-cut or made-to-order goods, hazardous items, perishable items, and special-order products unless they are faulty.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5 business days of goods being received and inspected. Exchanges are not offered; customers may return the item and place a new order.
- Warranty Policy
Many products supplied by Builders Mart include a manufacturer-backed warranty. Warranty duration and terms vary between products and are specified within the product description or manufacturer documentation. Warranties cover defects in materials or workmanship under normal use from the date of delivery.
To make a warranty claim, customers should provide proof of purchase, photographs, and a description of the issue. Builders Mart will guide customers through the applicable manufacturer process for repair, replacement, or resolution.
Warranties do not cover damage caused by improper installation, misuse, neglect, unauthorised modification, accidental damage, or normal wear and tear. Custom-cut or second-hand items may have limited or no warranty, as specified.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, customers are entitled to goods that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. Faults arising within the first six months are presumed to have existed at the time of delivery unless proven otherwise.
- Privacy Policy (UK GDPR Compliance)
Builders Mart processes personal data strictly in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Personal data collected may include name, address, contact details, order information, and communications sent through our website or customer service channels. Payment details are handled securely by our payment processor; Builders Mart does not store or access payment card information.
Personal data is used solely for order fulfilment, customer support, returns and warranty processing, service improvement, and optional marketing communications (which customers may opt out of at any time). Data is shared only with trusted third parties such as courier services, payment processors, and manufacturers when necessary to complete an order or warranty claim. Builders Mart does not sell or distribute personal data to unrelated third parties.
All data is stored securely using appropriate technical and organisational measures. Customers have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or transfer their data, withdraw consent, or raise a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
